      Received this error while running 1.17 for the first time;
      Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/minecraft/client/main/Main has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 60.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 59.0

        A quick search returned this solution. It is confirmed to work. Try installing Java 16: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase-jdk16-downloads.html
